Salt Lake City Library
Architect: Moshe Safdie and Associates, Valentiner Crane Brunjes Onyon Architects
Structural Engineer: Ove Arup & Partners, Reaveley Engineers and Associates

The library’s lens wall looks out at the Wasatch mountains. TriPyramid’s tension truss system has minimal structure and modest cost.

Bow trusses in a vertical plane behind
the tube steel mullions, combined with horizontal cables following the curve of
the wall, serve to counter both positive
and negative wind pressure on the glass lens wall.

TriPyramid also designed and supplied large steel castings which create an elegant 3-way connection detail in the “Y-braces” in the reading room.
