Icahn Genomics Laboratory, Princeton University: Cable Wall

Architect: Rafael Viñoly Architects Structural Engineer: Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners |

This virtually transparent glass wall allows
light to enter the space unimpeded by
structure, but regulated by the large
exterior rotational sunshades. The cable
net structure used a hydraulic-activated cable tensioning system by TriPyramid to
pre-tension the vertical stainless steel
cables at installation.

The sophisticated castings that hold the
glass and carry the glass loads to the vertical cables were developed by TriPyramid, working with the architect and engineer. TriPyramid supplied both castings and stainless cables.
