Corning Museum of Glass
Architect: Smith-Miller & Hawkinson
Structural Engineer: Ove Arup & Partners/MERO Structures, Inc.
The Innovations Center,
the visitors’ center at the museum in Corning NY, presents a sloped glass wall for its entrance area, with the support structure for the glass featured on the exterior of the building.

The external support for the angled glass wall consists of stainless steel masts, rods and hardware by TriPyramid.

TriPyramid used computer solid modeling for studies which led in the end to a design where rod terminals are almost invisibly incorporated in the masts. TriPyramid was a consultant during the design phase, and then manufactured the primary glass wall system.
