Condé Nast Cafeteria
Architect: Frank O. Gehry and Associates
Structural Engineer: DeSimone Consulting

The large slumped glass panels hang to define areas in this cafeteria in a New York office building. Each panel weighs up to 800 pounds and is made of two 3/4" thick pieces of glass laminated together. No two panels are the same. The glass is hung from its top edge and simply propped in or out at the bottom

TriPyramid designed the spherical connection in the plane of the glass
to prevent transmitting bending
stress to the fragile annealed glass.

TriPyramid also developed and conducted a test program to evaluate varied design approaches and ways to put holes in the panels.

TriPyramid manufactured and supplied the support hardware.
